Summary

Today's discussion was all spoken, so there is no transcript of the typed "chat".

David has produced a new version of the "Requirements for Bodies" document, accepting all previous changes and incorporating those suggested by Mark and John. The security section must be run past the CCSDS security people. Terry will send suggestions for wording in this section. David would like to send the document off by the weekend.

Looking ahead, the next steps include the establishment of a European framework for certification with gold-silver-bronze levels. This should be globally applicable, though will need some introducing to the world and the US in particular.

The PTAB organisation needs to be created, thinking about a business plan. David hopes to conduct test audits by the end of the year, and set up a legal organisation in early 2011 to support "gold" certification, though the deadline for the ISO standard sets the deadline for the test audits.

David pointed to http://wiki.digitalrepositoryauditandcertification.org/bin/view/Main/DraftPlanForOrganisation as an outline of a letter to send to potential funders.

In the coming months these MegaMeeting discussions should work through a strategy to achieve the above goals.

It will also be necessary to put in place the "operational procedures" required by ISO 17021, leading to a CCSDS Green Book.

Actions

  • Terry Longstreth to send suggestions for wording in the security section.
