Summary

The meeting was conducted via audio rather than chat. A number of small points in the document were discussed and changes agreed . It is hoped that this will essentially complete the document.

Actions

  • David Giaretta to send around a new version.
  • ALL to comemnt on draft MoU.
  • ALL to provides any corrections to the document and indicate if they think the document should not be submitted. The default is that the document will be submitted to CCSDS/ISO

If the document is submitted then the RAC will start work on the next document which is essentially the operations procedures of the certification body. This is not a standard but a "Green Book" in CCSDS terms. It is necessary for the running of the certification body.

Transcript of chat

Much of the discussion took place orally, so the chat transcript is not a complete record.

David Giaretta >> (All): Hi Terry
David Giaretta >> (All): Test
BruceAmbacher >> (All): Here is the meat of my email: 1.4 this international standard should be this document1.5 Sections 3 to 10 provide the normative metrics against which an organization providing audit and certification of digital repositories may be judged. Should read:– Sections 3 to 10 expand on ISO 17021 and provide the normative metrics against which an organization providing audit and certification of digital repositories may be judged. 1.7.2.1 Primary Accreditation Board needs ” CCSDS 652.0-M-1/ISO 16363” reference7.2.1 a)Why was “knowledge of RAC” deleted?7.2.1.3.1 f) should read “primary Accreditation Board, uts delegate or its successor.”8.1.1 awkward language 9 what is the valid term for candidate trustworthy digital repository?”
RobertDowns >> (All): Strawman for new section (sub-section): The Primary TDR Advisory Board (PTAB) will serve as the body responsible for providing accreditation to each organization that will serve as a Certification Body.
RobertDowns >> (All): Perhaps we should specify organizations as either TDR candidates or candidates for renewal.
RobertDowns >> (All): digital repository could refer to both TDR candidates and renewal candidates.
BruceAmbacher >> (All): See his comment above that one
RobertDowns >> (All): Perhaps we can also define TDR in the glossary.
RobertDowns >> (All): Might "b" refer to accreditation of certification bodies as well as conducting audits?
RobertDowns >> (All): If we keep it in, we need to make it more clear or nobody will know what it means.
RobertDowns >> (All): B
BruceAmbacher >> (All): in a: how does a body act as a lecturer?
BruceAmbacher >> (All): Start the section with: Members of certification bodies . .
JohnGarrett >> (All): I think it should be referring to individuals also
BruceAmbacher >> (All): Next Monday is Memorial Day
BruceAmbacher >> (All): Just comment and let David sort it out
Mark Conrad >> (All): I have a comment on 7.3.1.
RobertDowns >> (All): While it is not stated directly, the paragraph implies that the TDR mentioned is the TDR that is being audited.
BruceAmbacher >> (All): Sucj experts will supplement the audit team, not be a part of the core team
Mark Conrad >> (All): I have to leave now.
BruceAmbacher >> (All): ok
TerryLongstreth >> (All): We await your email
RobertDowns >> (All): Sounds like a plan
David Giaretta >> (All): ACTION: DG to put up revised version

TerryLongstreth >> (All): 'bye
